Flytipping - January 2020

As you are probably already aware, there has been an increase in flytipping in the last few months. We would like to remind residents, that should you have any items that you no longer want or need, please dispose of them correctly.

Items can be disposed of at our local recycling centre in Hortonwood. The recycling centre is open 7 days a week from 9am - 5pm.

If you no longer want or need any household items, please consider selling them local for sale sites. Alternatively, please consider donating any items to local charity shops. In the current climate, there are people in need who may be able to make use of your unwanted items.

Should you need any further information about flytipping, please visit their our local councils website

Instances of flytipping can be reported via the councils website or via their "Everyday Telford" app.

Cardboard recycling ♻️

We all have lots more cardboard to recycle at this time of year, and sometimes it won’t all fit in our blue bags. Fit in what you can, or break it down and place under your blue bag to keep it dry and stop it blowing away #Recycle #GreenChristmas #SustainableTW

Unwanted clothes

You may have unwanted clothes that you want to get rid of. Please do not leave black bags of clothes on a pavement or on your street.

There are clothes banks within the local area. There are clothes banks at Morrisons & near the petrol station at Tesco. We also have a new "Cash 4 Clothes" unit at the Wrekin Retail Park. Alternatively, please take your unwanted clothes to local charity shops or sell them online.

A statement from our local Police Team

A large quantity of fly tipped refuse has been removed from the alley to the rear of Urban Garden’s, Wellington after being reported to West Mercia Police and Telford & Wrekin Council; evidence suggests that the rubbish present had been dumped by more than one person, and enquiries are ongoing to identify and deal with those responsible. Whilst it is likely a minority of individuals are responsible for this problem it is important to stress the need for the wider community to dispose of their waste responsibly.
