Arleston Neighbourhood Watch - May 2021 Newsletter
Welcome to this month's edition of our newsletter.
Crime Stats
Please see the latest crime stats that have been issued by West Mercia Police for Arleston & College.
As you will see, there was an increase in crimes reported during March 2021 compared to February's figures. Although it appears that crime is rising within our local area, the latest figures also reflect that more people are reporting crimes/suspicious activities that they see.
We cannot stress enough how important it is for residents to report instances of crime or suspicious activity to the Police. The police need to know what is happening within Arleston. They rely on information on the public to identify what crimes are taking place and who may be responsible.
If you witness a crime taking place or you become suspicious of an activity taking place within our community, please call 101 as a matter of priority. In the event of an emergency, please call 999. Alternatively, you can report online via West Mercia Police website.
Good news story
We are pleased to confirm that a CCTV camera has been re-installed on Churchill Road due to an increase in anti social behaviour.
Several residents came forward to us to raise their concerns that anti social behaviour was on the increase again. We raised concerns on behalf of local residents to our local councillor, our local police team and the council. The camera has been installed on a temporary basis and we hope that this will deter individuals from causing anti social behaviour.
Should you witness any kind of anti social behaviour taking place anywhere within our community, please report it via 101.

Neighbourhood Watch Week 5th - 11th June 2021
We are looking forward to our very first "Neighbourhood Watch Week" which will take place during 5th - 11th June 2021.
If the pandemic has taught us one thing, it is that neighbourliness and community spirit is just as important as ever.
Neighbourhood Watch Week is an opportunity for us to build on the existing and new neighbourly relationships formed throughout the pandemic. It is a time for us to build on the connections we have made before and during lockdown. Let’s stay connected!
More information will be shared with residents who have registered with our official scheme soon.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of interest from members of our community, we will not be holding the big lunch on Saturday 5th June 2021. This is very disappointing as we wanted an event to bring our community together. However, we hope that as we continue to grow as a scheme, we will be able to hold public events in the future.

Drug Dealing
We have received a number of concerns about drug dealing in and around Arleston. This continues to be a worry for quite a few residents. We are aware of several locations where drug dealing takes place.
We have fed this information back to the police on behalf of residents. However, in the future, can we please ask you to call the Police as soon as you become aware of a drug deal taking place.
An important message from West Mercia Police
Please whenever you notice someone consuming cannabis in your local area, call it through to us on 101. It will help us to understand better what is going on in your local area and eventually be able to take action.
